Dog Days of Summer

The Dog Days of Summer are here! We asked our followers to share their furry friends enjoying the beautiful weather of New England. After a weeklong contest, @newenglandlivingtv collected numerous dog submissions from across the region.

Although it was hard, we narrowed it down to 10 of our favorite “Dog Days of Summer” pictures.

Breed: Golden Retriever

Favorite Thing to do in the Summer: Eat ice cream with her dad, Tim, after a day of swimming and travel! (Nola has been to the Cape this summer and Montreal).
Fun Fact: Nola is 5 years old rescue and a therapy dog. She spends time with her mom Shannon Daoust, as a Pet Partners pet team.

Favorite Things to do in the Summer: Sailing, swimming, playing outside, chasing bunnies!
Fun Fact: Hickory loves to meet people and dogs! He loves the summer because he gets to go with his mom and dad on their sailboat and friends’ fast power boats.

Favorite Thing to do in the Summer: Being a south shore Massachusetts native, Loki spends lot of his time at the beach, exploring the coast south of Boston and into the Cape. He also loves to venture north to mountain towns, and hike the White and Green Mountains. His family’s favorite evening routine has been an 8 mile bike ride down Powder Point Bridge, Duxbury beach road, to Gurnet Lighthouse and back.

Favorite Thing to do in the Summer: Trot through Boston, sploot around on the boat, and eat mouthfuls of sand at the beach!
Fun Fact: Kyva just turned 7 months in July and is really loving her first South Shore summer!

Favorite Thing to do in the Summer: Swim and chase sticks in the water, go for long walks, enjoy cookouts, eating leftovers and hanging with his family.

Favorite Thing to do in Summer: He loves running around the common with his doggy pals and sniffing squirrels on the esplanade. He’s trying to get over his phobia of water so that he can take a dip in the sea!
Fun Fact: Frank moved here from London, England in January so he’s still adjusting to the sun (and the snow!).

Favorite Thing to do in Summer: Bolt is growing up coastal with walks on the beach, cooling off in the ocean, playing with his 3 human brothers and kitten, Flash. He’s a lover with a calm and cheery demeanor and loves snuggles and pets from everybody!
