Easy Apple Pie

Perfect for the Holiday season, or any time of year, this easy apple pie is the ultimate cozy dessert.

PREP TIME: 30 MINUTES
COOK TIME: 45 MINUTES
LEVEL: EASY
YIELD: 8 SERVINGS

Ingredients

  • 7-8 granny smith apples
  • 2 pie crusts
  • 1 lemon
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg

Preparation Method

  1. Preheat the Wolf Convection to 375° on the Bake mode.
  2. Squeeze a lemon into a large bowl and add ½ cup of water.
  3. Peel and thinly slice the apples and toss in the lemon water to preserve color.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  5. Drain the excess liquid from the apples and dry some of the excess liquid with two paper towels.
  6. Toss the apples with the dry seasonings. Prepare the pie dish by laying down the bottom crust, and filling with the apple mixture. Lay the second crust on top of the apples and crimp the edges of the pie crusts together. Using a paring knife, poke 4 vent holes in the center of the pie crust.
  7. Whisk the egg with 2 tablespoons of water, and brush over the crust of the pie. Using a piece of foil, (or a crust protector if you have one) line the edge crust of the pie with foil to prevent burning.
  8. Place on rack position 3 and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil, or crust protector, and bake an additional 15 minutes.
  9. Serve with whipped cream, ice cream, or all by itself!
