The Philosophy of Phi Builders & Architects

Phi Builders & Architects started, quite literally, from the ground up. They began as a furniture and cabinetry making business and soon developed into a full-scale, “foundations to furniture” construction company, according to architect Chris Groton. The cabinet makers still work on site in Phi’s Rockport location, which bridges the gap between architects who have questions on design details and the team that will be building the product itself.

Groton and fellow architect Trevor Smith worked with the general contractors, builders, and design team to build a traditional yet contemporary house for Lani Stiles that would accommodate her growing family. The incorporation of natural light into each room, sloping ceilings, built-in cabinetry and glass partitions between the upper and lower floors were just a few examples of design elements to this forever home.
