Cozy Winter Finds

New England-made products to get you through the chilly season.

1. THE SALTY COTTAGE, handmade designer accent pillows, $84-104,

This North Shore company believes in the power of accent pillows. In the cold months, they can add instant comfort to a room, and at the change of a season (or mood) they can be easily swapped out. Owner Holly and her team stitch each simple, coastal-inspired design by hand using materials sourced from Massachusetts.

2. NANTUCKET LOOMS, handwoven cashmere blankets and throws, $1,400,

In operation since 1968, Nantucket Looms’ cashmere throws are made in their 51 Main Street weaving studio on the island. Cashmere is “woven in a chevron weave structure,” which adds thickness and warmth. The store also carries the works of over 80 local painters, potters, wood carvers, basket weavers and jewelry makers.

3. MINKA, Minka Miracle Hand Salve, $14,

Minka’s all-natural apothecary line is handmade in Maine without preservatives, fillers or harmful chemicals. The Miracle Hand Salve is a citrusy winter mood buster. The blend of essential oils and Shea butter and Orange Peel Wax helps restore dry, cracked and aging skin.

4. MINKA, handmade ceramic birchware vases, $12-32,

Located in downtown Kennebunkport, Minka also has many rotating gems carefully selected by husband-and-wife team, Michelle Rose and Chris Larochelle. The birchware vases bring rustic warmth to your table.

5. NATURE’S ATELIER, tea towel, $23,

Through her photography, Erika Scilipoti captures the organic beauty of nature’s light, composition and color. Her home textiles showcase her images on linen-cotton canvas. The towels can be used to line serving trays and fruit baskets, or as gift wraps, placemats or wall hangings.
