Jamie Genser is a chameleon in the real estate market. After more than 25 years in the Boston market, she has become the #1 agent in her office because of her ability to connect with people and adapt to their needs.
“I love meeting the people, listening to their stories, and helping them in a way that makes it easiest as possible for them,” Genser shared. “I didn’t strive to be #1; I just had a desire to help people each day.”
Genser’s people skills elevate her in a world increasingly reliant on computers and AI to get work done. In her eyes, customer service remains at the root of real estate, and customer service requires empathetic and caring personalities. While maintaining a solid online and social media presence is crucial to success, Genser is always looking for a unique edge to her listings that can’t be replicated on a website.
“I’m always talking to other agents to see what’s going on and providing information to my clients that they won’t get online,” Genser said.
This approach to real estate has allowed Genser to represent a wide range of properties. Her wheelhouse is in Newton, Brookline, and Chestnut Hill. Not only is she a resident of Newton, making her quite the expert on the area, but she believes these towns have become desirable for people of all ages and stages of life.
“Some clients like the urban feel of Brookline, but then as their family grows, they want a house in Newton or Chestnut Hill,” she said. “People love to go West from Boston because you can shoot right into the city while offering many great amenities.”
Many of her listings are known for their modern flair and new construction. 74 Brookline Street in Newton, with a recently reduced price of $2.898 million, was built in 2022 and boasts high ceilings with an open and airy layout. 37 Columbine Road, also in Newton and priced at $3.795 million, is another young house with six bedrooms, a three-car garage, and a gorgeous pool.
“That one is in a cul-de-sac, which is nice,” Genser said. “It’s a truly private setting.”
One of her latest listings is 3 Idlewile Lane in Weston, less than 20 minutes from Boston. Situated on 8 acres of land, Idlewile, listed for $15 million, is a custom-built house with top-quality construction. A slate roof, copper gutters, and brick and stone facade complement the amenities, including an in-ground indoor pool and garage parking for seven.
“It’s on a private road, which is very unusual, and surrounded by conservation land,” Genser said. “It’s great for somebody that wants privacy and land but can still be in the heart of Boston in 20 minutes.”
As this sampling shows, Genser is willing to take on all shapes and sizes of properties and doesn’t let any details detract from giving 100% to each customer. Her marketing is just as distinct: along with the typical postcards, window advertisements, and open houses, Genser stays rooted in her belief in the importance of connections to real estate.
“I enjoy building relationships with other agents and like to create unique broker open houses to get fellow agents into my listings,” Genser shared. “The cornerstone of my success has been long-term relationships and building trust within this industry of talented agents in my market and beyond.
