Celebrating a Home’s History in Style in Marblehead, Massachusetts

“Marblehead is a picturesque, seaside town with narrow crooked streets lined with magnificent homes built centuries ago,” says Parker Kelley. One such home captured the creative imaginations of homeowners Joe and Misty, who were featured in New England Living TV’s Episode 2 of Season 2.

Located in the Old Town neighborhood of Marblehead, Joe and Misty felt connected to the 1830s Greek Revival when they first opened the door. Although it had been divided into five separate units, they pictured what it once was and what it could be. They worked with Chris Sweeney of Coastline Construction to restore the home one room at a time.

Joe and Misty were able to salvage many of the historic details of the home such as crown molding, wainscoting, windows, shutters and fireplaces. However, with a growing family and a love for entertaining, they needed a space that was functional, too. See how Joe and Misty carried this storied house into the future in the home tour.
